Send-Off Series

In the first game of the 2010 Word Cup send-off series, the U.S. suffered a sloppy looking loss to the Czech Republic. The Czhechs exposed the horrible defensive play in the first of two tune up games for the Americans, defeating them 4-2 in front of 36,218 people at Rentschler Field in Connecticut. I was extremely disgusted with the back field play, especially by #21 Clarence Goodson. It looked like this douche never played a game of soccer before in his life. On a night with most of our studs like Donovan and Dempesey on the bench, there were a few bright spots on offense. Goals by Herculez Gomez and Maurice Edu might have landed them both on the final roster that Coach Bradley will announce tomorrow. The U.S. really needs to improve their ball control and footwork before they depart to South Africa. In fact the best piece of footwork that I saw during the game was when Edu did the "Stanky Leg" after the first goal (In honor of injured teamate Charlie Davies). Tonight however wasn't a complete disaster considering Bradley only likes to play our shit players in games like these. DaMarcus Beasley and Stuart Holden had excellent games and showed a ton of heart. I just hope to see some of our A team when we face those turkeys from Turkey on May 29th in Philly.
